Hello Friends,

Another week, another new tutorial. This week, we still keep it short and sweet. A slight touch of skew applied, 3D effect achieved.🪄

Let's get straight into it!

LEARN DESIGN

Skewed stacks are a great way to add perspective to your layout. Here’s how to build this clean layered effect using Vector Blender, linear repeat, and a skew plugin in Figma.

Video Tutorial is linked below.

Step 1 - Setup the card

  • Size it (e.g. 200x125)

  • Duplicate and position the second card slightly offset

These two shapes define the start and end of your stack.

Two cards placed offset.

Step 2 – Blend two shapes

Use the Vector Blender plugin.

Select 2 cards and generate 4 copies in between. Now you’ve got a nice layered stack to work with.

Use plugin to generate 4 copies in between.

Step 3 – Design the textured cards

Make the overall stacks is design-ready

  • Draw a 1px line

  • Outline it (Cmd + Opt + O)

  • Use linear repeat with a 10-unit gap and 30-count

  • Rotate the group to span diagonally across the card

  • paste and replace (Cmd + Opt + shift + V) designed cards into the stacks

Place the textured card in place.

Step 4 – Apply the skew

  • Select all the cards

  • Use the Skew plugin

  • Set the vertical angle to around 25°

This gives the whole stack a subtle, forward tilt—feels a little more alive.

Use plugin to skew all cards

Step 5 – Tada!

And that’s your design. Clean, dimensional, and easy to drop into any layout.

Let me know if you give it a try.
