Hello Friends,
Hope you all are doing well. Have a good night sleep, adequate amount of exercise and precious time
This week, we will be designing kinetic blur. This technique helps create tension and motion to your imagery. Yes, motion, but without getting into motion tool.
Sounds intriguing? Let's get started!
LEARN DESIGN
Create amazing kinetic blur effects in Figma using the "vga blurrific.exe" plugin. Let's dive in! 👇

Video Tutorial is linked below.
Step 1 - Prepare portrait imagery
First, grab a solid portrait image.
Now, let’s break it into 3 blur types: linear blur, zoom blur, and tilt-shift. Each brings its own vibe! 🎨

End result of 3 kind of kinetic blur portraits.
Step 2 – Linear blur
Start with the Linear Blur:
Duplicate your image frame
Crop it to isolate the area you want blurred
Open the vga blurrific.exe plugin & apply the linear blur
Export 2 blur values, and stack it upon the original imagery (lower value first)
Adjust the placement

Export 2 values of linear blur image in plugin.
Step 3 – Zoom blur
For Zoom Blur:
Create an oval mask around the focal point (like a face)
Subtract it from the blurred area
Apply zoom blur to make the background swirl while keeping the focus sharp
as before, export in 2 values, and stack!

Isolate the focal point and apply zoom blur to the rest of imagery.
Step 4 – Tilt Shift
Finally, the Tilt Shift:
Use another plugin (filter/effects) to apply a vertical blur
Play around with the blur’s intensity and position
Save the image and you have it!

Apply tilt shift effect in filter/effects plugin.
Step 5 – Tada!
Put these imagery into your design.

Put imagery into your designs.
